Terms of Service
These terms govern the PocketLife launch website and, when released, the PocketLife mobile game, optional accounts, cloud saving, advertising, one time purchases, and optional external support.
Current status: Pocketlife.fun provides mobile-launch information, support contact details, and these legal pages. The website does not currently provide a playable version of PocketLife.
References to mobile accounts, cloud saves, advertising, or purchases apply only when PocketLife makes that feature available. They do not promise a particular launch date or claim that an unfinished feature works today.

PocketLife is operated by Joe Valdez, an independent developer in Norway.

2. Acceptance and eligibility
By using PocketLife, you agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
PocketLife is intended for players aged 16 or older. Initial production accounts, cloud saves, purchases, purchased expansions, and Usage Analytics are limited to real players aged 18 or older. The age of a fictional character does not determine the real player’s eligibility. Players aged 16 or 17 may use the local base game without an account.
3. Licence and ownership
PocketLife gives you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the released game for private entertainment in accordance with these terms and the rules of the store that supplied it.
PocketLife and its original software, game content, branding, and presentation are owned by Joe Valdez or used under applicable licences. Third-party names, trademarks, software, fonts, and artwork remain the property of their respective owners. Except where applicable law expressly permits it, you may not redistribute, sell, commercially exploit, reverse engineer, interfere with, or create an unauthorized derivative version of PocketLife.
4. Fictional game content
PocketLife is a fictional life simulation. Characters, stories, businesses, finances, health conditions, locations, statistics, news, crime, and events are created for entertainment. They are not financial, legal, medical, tax, investment, or other professional advice. Any resemblance to a real person or event is coincidental unless the game clearly identifies a real-world reference.
5. Accounts and security
The complete local base game does not require an account. An account may be required for cloud saving, purchases, purchase restoration, and other account-bound services. You must provide accurate eligibility information, verify your email, protect your sign-in method, and notify support if you suspect unauthorized access.
You may not sell, rent, share, automate, impersonate, probe, attack, overload, or attempt to bypass the security, device verification, purchase verification, access limits, or operation of PocketLife or its providers.
6. One active device and offline access
Each PocketLife account permits one active device at a time. Successfully signing in on another device immediately replaces the previous device’s server authority for cloud saves and account-bound purchases.
An offline device cannot learn about a takeover immediately. Account-bound offline access lasts for no more than 24 hours from that device’s last successful server check. After that period, reconnection and successful verification are required. Restarting the app, using a cached sign-in, or making a failed request does not restart the 24-hour period.
Offline progress from a replaced or expired device is not automatically entitled to overwrite the current cloud revision. PocketLife may preserve it locally for recovery, but conflict resolution and security checks can require the player to choose or reconnect before synchronization.
7. Saves and platform separation
Local saves remain in the app’s private storage. Clearing app data, uninstalling, resetting, losing, or damaging a device can remove local progress. Store updates are designed to preserve the application container, but you should not treat a local copy as a guaranteed permanent backup.
When cloud saving is enabled, iOS and Android save partitions remain separate. PocketLife does not promise that an iOS save, purchase, or entitlement will transfer to Android, or vice versa. Cloud synchronization depends on a valid account, current device authority, network availability, and compatible save version.
8. Advertising
The free mobile game may contain clearly identified automatic banner or in-feed advertising and voluntary rewarded advertising. Available privacy choices will be presented where required. Refusing optional tracking or analytics does not remove access to the base game.
A rewarded-ad benefit is granted only after the advertising provider reports successful completion and PocketLife confirms the applicable gameplay limit. Closing an ad, losing connectivity, provider failure, or no available ad does not grant or consume the reward. Reward availability is not guaranteed.
A verified Remove Ads or PocketLife Plus entitlement removes automatic PocketLife advertising while that entitlement remains valid. Voluntary rewarded advertising may remain available as an optional action where the product description says so.
9. Purchases and PocketLife Plus
PocketLife plans to offer optional one-time digital products rather than subscriptions at initial launch. The store checkout shows the binding product description, local price, tax, territory availability, and payment terms before purchase.
- Apple purchases and Google Play purchases are separate and do not transfer between platforms.
- Eligible purchases are bound to the selling store and the verified PocketLife account used for the purchase or restoration.
- The relevant store processes payment, refunds, chargebacks, family approval, and payment-method details under its own terms.
- Deleting a PocketLife account does not itself cancel, refund, or erase the store’s transaction record.
- A refunded, revoked, or charged-back purchase may remove the ability to begin new paid-only actions. PocketLife will not intentionally delete or corrupt existing save data merely because an entitlement becomes unavailable.
10. Voluntary support through Ko-fi
The website may link to an independent Ko-fi page where people aged 18 or older can choose a one time contribution or recurring monthly support. Support is voluntary. It is not a purchase of PocketLife and does not unlock gameplay, change game results, provide priority service, guarantee a reward, or give a supporter control over development decisions.
Ko-fi and its connected Stripe or PayPal service handle checkout, recurring billing, receipts, and payment details under the terms shown before payment. Monthly support continues until it is cancelled. Supporters can manage or cancel it through the Ko-fi account used to contribute, or through PayPal where applicable. Contact support@pocketlife.fun about a contribution or refund. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
11. Updates and availability
Apple App Store and Google Play distribute executable mobile updates. PocketLife may change, add, balance, repair, or remove game content and services through reviewed store updates. Features may be unavailable during maintenance, provider outages, security events, or technical failures.
PocketLife does not promise uninterrupted service, permanent availability of a particular feature, or compatibility with every future operating-system or device version. Any material paid-product change remains subject to the product description, applicable law, and store rules.
12. Suspension and termination
PocketLife may restrict or suspend account access when reasonably necessary to investigate fraud, abuse, security threats, unlawful use, or a serious breach of these terms. Where appropriate and lawful, PocketLife will explain the action and provide a way to contact support.
You may stop using PocketLife and request deletion of your account at any time. Account deletion is permanent after completion and is explained on the account-deletion page.
13. Disclaimers and consumer rights
PocketLife is provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, no promise is made that the service will always be uninterrupted, error-free, or compatible with every device. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits mandatory consumer rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.
You remain responsible for reasonable protection of your device, account access, and local data. PocketLife remains responsible where applicable law says responsibility cannot be excluded.
14. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Norwegian law, without depriving you of mandatory protections available in your country of residence. Contact support@pocketlife.fun first so a concern can be investigated. You may also use any competent consumer-protection authority, supervisory authority, dispute-resolution body, or court available under applicable law.
15. Changes to these terms
PocketLife may update these terms when features, providers, store rules, or legal obligations change. The current effective date will remain visible at the top. Where required, PocketLife will give additional notice or request acceptance before materially changed terms apply to an account service.
